Question I have a 50" Hitachi Plasma TV model 50V500 and when I turn it on it cuts off and the temp light blinks. It wont cut on at all.
Answer Alan,
You are mistaken. All Hitachi Plasma TV's have a model number that begins with "P". Your model is a DLP (Digital Light Projector). Generally when the temperature light blinks, it is because your lamp has burned out. For your model, the 50V500 WITHOUT a suffix, you will need the lamp part number UX21511, which should cost you between $200 and $250 depending on where you buy it. I strongly advise against going for a cheaper after-market generic lamp. At my Service Center, we refuse to work with the after-market generics due to the problems we have seen, which range from not working initially at all, to burning out after a few weeks or months. Buy the original Hitachi lamp and save your self some headaches.
regards,
Rick
