Question Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Whenever i turn on the tv it doesnt stay on. The tv turns off after 5 to 10 seconds and i repeat this up to 10 to 15 times till the picture becomes less fuzzy and will stay on. Is this a fixable problem by the average homeowner? or should i splurge on a flat screen?
Answer This is most often, among many other possibilities, a power supply failure. In fact, it is also most often a failure of one or more of the electrolytic ripple reducing capacitors in the power supply.
The cost of repair if you lug it into the shop will be around $100, hopefully less - if it is the correct diagnosis.......
All the best.
