TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting - Memorex 32" LCD TV

Expert: cleggsan - 11/6/2009

Question
I want to know why my TV will turn on but no picture and it does have sound. This is the second time its happen, The first time i sent it back and they fixed it and its a year later and its doing it again, I would like a new TV or my money back for this inconvenience.

Thank you

Answer
Without the model number I can only give some general comments.

Warranty lasts one year; if it is under the one year mark they may help you again. If over one year I think they will say no deal to warranty repairs.

Memorex brand is a price leader type brand and you take some chances with reliability due to the lower manufacturing costs they must incur in order to be a price leader.

When the picture goes it is likely in the digital processing and driver board that feeds the display panel.  This is not user serviceable and if out of warranty or extended warranty the repair is likely to be quite expensive, sorry to say.
