TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting - Panasonic Cinema Vision

Expert: cleggsan - 11/5/2009

Question
I believe the model# PT615x60a. The screen is dark after adjusting to the levels to the max to lighten. Wondering if we can buy lamps to replace or is there something else we can do?

Cinemavision 61inch Panasonic rear projection made in 2000

Answer
That model number does not come up as current.  I could not find anything on it other than replacement remote control suppliers.

Since it is nearly 10 years old it would not be a good investment for a large expenditure on repairs.  If you cannot adjust the brightness or brilliance up further it may be the set is just getting old.  New projection tubes will cost more than the price of a new set.

Here is one thing you can try:  Enter the service mode and see if you can get more range out of the brightness controls.  You should be able to get into the service mode by following the instructional procedures at:

Best wishes.
