TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting - Panasonic Veira TH-42PX70A

Expert: cleggsan - 11/5/2009

Question
My TV has stopped working i have unplugged and replugged i have it on a surge proctor board and it had not tripped but i reset anyway and still is not working. The standby button keeps flashing red and when i try to turn on the button goes green then blank but nothing happens after that. i have no sound and no picture. What can i do?

Answer
This seems to be a power supply failure - not uncommon in any television receiver.

Unfortunately, there are few user serviceable parts or systems in these HD sets.  You will need a tv expert who can test and measure in order to diagnose the circuits and determine the precise part(s) that must be replaced.

Panasonic sets are amongst the most reliable, but, alas, they cannot all be perfect.  My experience is that Panasonic keeps the 1% aql level, meaning that only 1 out of 100 sets will have a problem of one kind or another.

Wish I had better news for you.
