Question How come every time I power up and the standby light comes on the system powers down everytime I hit any kind of function switch?
Answer These kinds of tribulations are usually a function of a bad power supply - or, can also be something that is causing an overload to the power supply, such as downed output transistors in the audio amplifier.
The only way to know or sure is with testing by an expert who knows how to troubleshoot the electronics.
An audio repair shop can find the trouble and fix it very efficiently. It will, of course, cost some $$ to get it done!
