Question QUESTION: I can not get sound on DP26649 model. I have only had this tv since June. the volum reads on screen that it is moving up,but I don't have sound. Have tried check mute on remote for dish and the one for the tv.
ANSWER: Linda,
The DP26649 has A/V inputs. Do you have audio with a DVD or video game?
Have you ever used a headphone? If so, do you have sound in them? Sometimes the switch that disconnects the speaker will malfunction when plugging/unplugging headphones.

Rick

QUESTION: Thank you for your reply. I have nothing other than directv connected to this tv. To my knowledge nothing has been connected other than that. It is located at beach property. If I unplug it and then reconnect would that help in anyway. Would it effect it if anyone turned it off at the tv rather than the remote(I am not aware if that happened), a relative stayed there between our last visit. Thank you for any advice.
Answer Linda,
I am not convinced that you have a problem with the TV. That is why I asked you if anything else was hooked to it, and if you ever used headphones. Can you take a DVD and headphones to it, and see if you have sound with the DVD, and/or if you have sound with your DirectTV using the headphones? These are simple, quick, easy diagnostic procedures I perform daily in my Service Center. It is the only way to isolate the problem and rule out external devices. Can you reset the DirectTV receiver, or ask DirectTV to run a test on it?
If you are unable to do these things, then I would suggest you take it to a Service Center and ask them to do so. I cannot advise you without having you perform some basic tests and having you get back to me with the answers I need to do your evaluation.
regards,
Rick
