TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting - Sony Trinitron TV Locked

Expert: Rick Montgomery - 11/21/2009

Question
Hi , I have a sony Trinitron TV, made in Malasia, SN 1527-194. I was away fo a job and when i got back and turn on the TV, it says Locked, it seems my nephew play with the remote and accidentally locked the TV. How do i unlock it? Is there a code or key combination. Please assist.

Answer
Stacy-Ann,
I would like to assist you, and probably can, but you have left off the one crucial piece of information I need to assist you, the MODEL NUMBER. All documentation is indexed by the model number of your set. As my profile reflects, without the model number, I could be searching through literally thousands of service manuals or owners manuals, not knowing if I have the correct one or not.
I also need to know specifics about the message and type of code the set is requesting.
If you'll do a followup and provide this information, I think we can have you up and running in no time.
regards,
Rick
