Question I have a Hitachi 46UX24B tv with a picture that sags from the top center and right bottom. Is there an inexpensive fix for this problem? The local dealer service guy says it needs a "board" at a cost of $500.
Answer It is more likely to be the convergence circuit that has gone bad. But, it requires some testing to be sure. If it is the convergence it will not require a new board but does require replacing two integrated circuits. The cost for this is around $300 to $400 usually. It is a common failure from large screen RPTV sets. So, it does not seem there is an inexpensive fix in this case. Sorry.
