Question
model B27A76R   2003 TV standard tube tv on swivel.  I broke of the coaxial input cable jack on back of TV.  Tried to fix it by opening small metal box the contains connections and soldering.  Made it worse by uncoiling small copper coils inside box which is mounted to main pc board--any help?

Answer
Mark,
You have made 2 mistakes. The first was trying to resolder the RF connector. Zenith tuners have been using chrome plated connectors that are solder-resistant. the second is the coils. They are critical parts of the tuning system. You cannot rewind them, as they have a specific number of turns put on at the factory, and are even spaced precisely to achieve the optimum tuning. Your tuner is ruined. The complete tuner, part # 175-02771 is discontinued, no longer available through Zenith/LG. A suitable substitute is part # 6700VNF010J. You can contact MCM Electronics at 800-543-4330 to purchase it.
regards,
Rick
