Question Hi - the other day we were watching our TV when all of a sudden the picture went out and smelled like something was burning. When trying to turn it back on the power button (which is red when on) keeps blinking and making a clicking noise. We can't get any picture or sound. We bought this in 2002. Curious as to the price to fix this and if it is worth it. Not sure if it is time to just invest in a flat screen. This is the 2nd issue I have had with this set. A couple of years back I had put about $350 into fixing it also. Thanks for your help.
Answer the power supply or convergence circuits could casue this on your model and are common. a repair cost might range 300-400. it is a great model and brand for a repair. of course 300-400 goes a long way toward a new tv now a dyas. :)
