Question
I have a 65 inch Sony rear projection TV model # KP-65XBR10W manufactured in November 2000. when I turn it on the standby light will flash anywhere from 6 to 14 times , the picture will come on for a couple seconds then go black for 5 to 10 seconds come back on for a few seconds go off and on up to 3 times. then the picture will go out & the standby light will flash 5 times. If I turn the picture and brightness settings all the way down the TV will stay on but is almost impossible to see. Is this set economically repairable or is it time to replace ?
sounds like one of the projection tubes is going bad. i would say time for a new tv. this cost would run 500-600.
