Question
How can I get my VCR to record from a Sky + box
At the moment I can only record terrestrial programs from it

Sky + to System
Hello Bill,

You will have to use a splitter to split the signal from the point where it enters your TV via an F connector to the VCR F-connector. This is one way of doing it. You will only be able to record the channel you are looking at. see the attached diagram:

This setup will allow you to have RF input to the TV and VCR

You will be able to watch a program on TV or Record it on your VCR, but you are limited you can not record one show while watching another. You will however be able to record off of the sky+ box and play it back on the TV. using the coaxial connections shown above.

    CommentThank you for your help but I have also found out that Sky has made it impossible for people to record to VCR or DVD quoting anti piracy for this action

I am now working full time in the TV repair industry until I can find another full time job, I know what your question is: "why don't you just work full time in the TV repair industry permanently?" Well the answer to that is simple, due to the complexity and the DIY craze, TV repair work is at best a good way to make extra money, not to rely on it for your livelihood. A sad truth, but a truth nonetheless.
