QUESTION: I have a Mitsubishi 60" tv in the big wooden cabinet.  I think the model number is VS6021.  It has a plastic screen in the front that has some scratches on it. The screen seems ridged. Is this screen the plastic cover or is it the lenticular screen?  I wanted to know if this could be replaced and where I could buy a new one at.

ANSWER: Hello Sheila,

The best bet is to contact Mitsubishi and request an OEM replacement screen, they will have the ability to find you a certified repair site to have install the screen also.

QUESTION: I did contact Mitsubishi and they told me they don't have any parts for this TV.  I just want to know if the plastic ridged screen in the front is a protective cover for the real screen or is this the lenticular screen?  Thanks

Hello Sheila,

The ridged screen is the lenticular screen. There should also be a clear smooth protective cover over the lenticular screen.

I am now working full time in the TV repair industry until I can find another full time job, I know what your question is: "why don't you just work full time in the TV repair industry permanently?" Well the answer to that is simple, due to the complexity and the DIY craze, TV repair work is at best a good way to make extra money, not to rely on it for your livelihood. A sad truth, but a truth nonetheless.
