TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting/vizio e421va model

i am getting on occassion flashes of distortion on my screen.
do you know what it is?

I could not find any other owners reporting this problem.

It can be caused by a host of failures throughout all the circuitry processing the video signals.  Likewise power supply burping, cable and ribbon connectors with corrosion, bad solder joints or just about any common defect can cause this type of problem.

It may require, in the long run, some testing and diagnosis by a competent technician.

You might start at your level by doing some jiggling and wiggling of the set.  With your hand or fist just go around the cabinet and smack it around the edges and back.  Doing so may vibrate one of these errant connections to reactivate and restore the set to normal operation.  Worth a try - and won't cost anything to find out.

Best wishes.
