TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting/RCA L46WD22 Flickering

I have a RCA L46WD22 TV.  Last night the screen started flickering, similar to a strobe.  I can still see the picture, it just flickers.  It stopped for about a 1.5 hrs after I switched through all modes and turned it off and on.  Then it went back to flickering.  This morning when I turned it on, it is flickering nonstop, regardless of what I do.  The unit is around 8 yrs or so old.  It was bought new.  First issue Iíve had with it.  I read on one site to replace the Inverter boards to fix the problem.  It said there are two, a Slave and a Master, and both should be replaced.  The person who replaced them two items said it was still doing it afterwards.  I donít want to just start replacing parts.  Thank you!

The above link is a link showing the various boards and where to find the part numbers for them.

The above link is a listing of the boards and prices from shopjimmy a good place to get replacement boards.

I don't recommend this method but as last resort give it a try:

Don't know which board is the culprit but I did not exhaust all the links from a quick google search.
You can try a new board but my guess and its only a guess is the main board is the culprit; its expensive and maybe not a good investment given the age of the set and the low prices now days for new models.

Hope this helps.
