Question
I have a Kenwood KD-77F Turntable, and I have been having some troubles with it.

The first problem is that the volume is way too low.  I have a Pioneer SX-1300 tuner with specific phono input, but when I try ot listen to my vinyl, it acts like it has not been amped: low volume and hum.

The other problem I am having is the fact that this turntable has a linear motion arm.  The manual search buttons work and will move the arm.  When I cue the needle it drops and plays, but the linear motion does not keep up.  The needle gets pulled along the grooves only so far, then skips back to where it was dropped.

Any help on either of these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Craig,

I tend to think the earthing on the turntable connection isn't connecting or at least not connected properly and the earth on these machines is crucial.
Apologies with the needle tracking problem, I won't be able to help.

Good luck

N George
