Question
We have a 1996 Quasar VCR which worked perfectly with our old TV, but we have gone HD and now have an LCD Sony HD set with a fantastic picture.  But--  Having trouble hooking up VCR to it:  As it is now, we can put in a tape and watch it, no problem, but when we want to tape something we're watching, the screen display says "Line" and we have a picture but NO sound!  Tried lots of button-pushing, but no luck.  Diagrams with new set show using red/white/yellow plugs, but Quasar only has red and white on back.  Any suggestions about how to hook this up so we can tape things, or is it hopeless trying to match this old VCR with this new set?  Thanks.

Answer
I do think it is a matter of button pushing, I think it is more of a connection issue.
If your VCR has 2 plugs in the back instead of 2 it might mean that the VCR is mono not stereo in which case you use the yellow as Video lead and another one as audio lead.
I hope this fixes it.

Good luck

N George
