Experience In order to properly assist you, it is very important that you provide the Model number of the television and the year it was manufactured. You can find this information on the back of the TV. Please also let me know if you are trying to fix the unit or just need to know the cost for repair.
If you have a digital camera, and know how to solder and use a meter, I can help you fix your unit in most cases.

Question Hello,
Yesterday my tv went out. I tried to push the power button but it didn't work. 2 months ago a similar thing happened but that time no power at all was getting to the set even after unplugging/replugging the set. That turned out to be a simple fuse which I was able to replace myself.
This time I can retry starting the set when I unplug/replug the set but each time the red light comes on goes thru a couple of clicks...you can hear the degauss start and then a couple of more quick clicks and it goes into some sort of lockout/suspend mode.
I opened the set to check the fuse for the heck of it and no...the fuse is fine...I blew the components and compartment completely clean but to no avail...it still does the same thing. I even tried keeping it unplugged for 4-5 hours then retrying...but nope...same thing.
I love this set and would hate to run into a huge expense getting it fixed when new sets are getting cheaper and cheaper. Should stuff like this be happening on a set not even five years old from manufacture yet? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you
Steve in Denver.

P.S.
There are two authorized Panasonic repair centers here in Denver. One of them wants 89 bucks to just come out and diagnose/transport it to their shop(and it doesn't apply towards repair) The other repair place quoted me over the phone $225 labor plus parts(before even diagnosing) I feel like I have few options here. You don't live near Denver do you...heh.
Answer sorry i live in florida.
this sounds like the power supply might have gone bad. they dont make them like they use to.
3-5 years and you need a repair. 200-300 is the cost for a repair here. i would not have it done. for just a little more you can get a new tv. also if you do have it repaired the vertical circuit might be the next circuit to fail it is also common on your model.
good luck :)
let me know if yo uneed more info??
