TV/VCR/Stereo Troubleshooting/Philips 27" TV

Question
From time to time the remote sensor will act up. The TV will not turn on with the remote nor by pushing the button off and then on.  In fact, sometimes the red LED stays on after the switch is off.  Last year it did this for about 2 weeks and then began to work normally.  Right now, we cannot turn the TV on.  I read on this site that I could unplug it for 4 hours to reset to defaults.  Should I try this?  Thanks!

Answer
Vance,
It's possible that a hard reset may make the TV work correctly again, but I tend to think that the power for the main processor is lower than normal and it will cause the set to not turn on or off as it should.
