Question
RCA RT2380BK Receiever keeps shutting off intermittently. After it shuts off I can power it right back on then later it powers off again. No matter what function, (radio, cd, tv, etc.)
It is under warranty so I took it to a repair shop to have them repair it. They have had it for 2 days and say they can't get it to shut off.
Any ideas. Could it be speaker wiring or any of the items plugged into it ?

Yes, the speaker wiring, the speaker(s) themselves or how you have it configured can be the cause.

If you have more than one speaker per channel, that will do it  everytime, even though the amplifier is rated to drive two sets of speakers.  (don't do it.)

Also, it could have a cold solder joint or other loose wire/connection that was acting up.  The act of taking it to the repair shop might have twisted the chassis or in some way gotten the connection to working again.

If you get the set back, just bang on it or slap the side of the chassis; maybe that will put it back to work, should it fail again as you have described.
