Subject: Surround Sound Static

Question
I have an Elite audio 5.1 surround sound system and I love it.  Last night all the electronics were off and the surround was on standby and every couple of minutes I could hear static coming from all the speakers that got gradually louder over 10-15 seconds and then turned off.  I put in a DVD and it worked just fine but I could still hear the static in the background.  The only way to get it to stop was to turn the system off in the back.  What is causing this.  It is wiring?  Help!  Thanks

Answer
What puzzles me is that static moved in gradually but the system being on standby doesn't really mean much cause some of the circuitry is still working and an overload coming in with electricity would have still found it's way to the equipment even on standby.
Recheck on the wiring and connection although I am under the impression it was something electrical that affected your equipment.

Good luck

N George
