Question I know you don't really handle repair, but I was wondering if you could maybe give me a slight overview of what the problem may be and if it is very expensive to repair.
I have a 5 year old toshiba, 32 inch, regular tv (no flat screen, hd or anything). When turned on, the picture often skips and the color on the right and left sides of the screen often become discolored (red and green) and bleed over into the picture. it sometimes goes away after awhile but always returns. I have a feeling it is the picture tube (is that right?) and if it is what is the cost of repair? or is getting a new tv the way to go?
thank you for any help you can provide.
Answer Bill, yes it would probably be the tube but technicians have a hidden menu where they can fiddle around with the settings before deciding to quote for a new tube or throw the TV in the bin.
I suggest you get it looked at but prepare yourself for the worst.
