Question I have a RCA vcr/dvd player/recorder and it is brand new. I have been able to successfully record and playback from vcr to dvd, however, when I attempted to record and playback from dvd to vcr during the vhs playback I had picture distortion that occurs as follows - clean picture for 3 seconds then to snow then to black screen and then back to a clean picture for another 3 seconds. The blank tape I used to record to was a brand new RCA tape. It was recorded at sp mode and the dvd I was recording from was a maxell dvd+r recorded at sp mode on the same vcr/dvd recorder via my sony camcorder. If this makes no sense please email with questions.
Answer Tim!!!!!!
I hate to disappoint you......MACROVISION......Do you know what that is ??? It's a video signal encryption superimposed on some Pay-Tv transmission as well as DVDs.
Local Electronic hobby shops might have a Macrovision descrambler circuitry but even then you won't be able to do it within the combo machine as you need to plug the DVD playback into it, remove the Macrovision then feed it to the VCR to be recorded "Clean".
