The answer given by Macarious Abadeer is several years old (and the source even older) and now is slightly inaccurate. The current international standard table tennis tables are required to be blue as opposed to green in 2001. It may also interest readers to know the dimentions of the net, which Macarious also left out. The only required dimention of a net is it's height of 15.25cm.
The ball must be 40mm in diameter and is expected to way 2.7grams brand new (example: butterfly 3star).
Other than that Macarious left nothing out.
