when you are serving can you serve to any side or just to the opposite side?

Answer Hello,
If you're playing singles, you can serve anywhere on the other side. But if you're playing doubles, you should serve to the same part on the other table as yours. (i.e., if you're playing on the right of the table, you should serve to the person on the right of his side.)
