Question
what are the basics kicks of taekwondo?

Answer
hey jimelito,
thanks for the question. I'd want to apologise for the time its taken to answer this, i've been away from the computer for the past two weeks.

To answer your question now, there are many kicks in taekwondo. Within my club there are 5 basic kicks which all belts practice.

The first kick and most basic is the front-snap kick. The ball of the foot is used to strike the target in either the solarplexes or the face.

The second kick we practice is the side kick. The outside part of the foot is used (knife edge) to strik the target.

The third kick is the axe kick or downhill kick. The leg rises above the target and strikes down on their face or collarbone with the heel.

The fourth kick is the roundhouse kick. The flat of the foot or the ball of the foot can be used here to strike the targets solarplexes or side of the head.

The final kick we practice is the round-back kick. From fighting stance with right foot back, the body turns in a clock-wise position striking the target with your right foot.

It is best to look up some Taekwondo videos or go to a class to get a better idea of how the kicks work. Also keep in mind that different clubs refer to the kicks with different names. They are all still the same thing however.

I hope that this helps you and was worth the wait,
Saleem A.
