And how do i try out and where.....i think i heard the 2012 olympics are comeing to chicago and i live in north-west indiana.
Answer Dan,
Congratulations on your world titles. I think it's great that you have aspirations of competing in the Olympics.
First, the Olympics are WTF rules. ATA is a different style. We have full contact rules and the equipment is a little different too.
Go to http://www.usa-taekwondo.us/ This is the official site for Olympic TKD. There is a list of tournaments and state groups that host tournaments.
The 2008 season is starts in January. I know of a tournament in Tenn. and West Va. that you could go to. Let me know if you want further information. I'll give you and email address to respond to if you are interested.
One of the youngest Olympians was Juan Moreno. He was 16 in 1988 and made the first U.S. Olympic team.
It really depends on your skill level and if you qualify at Nationals and Team Trials. The website I gave you will give you history on teams and procedures for the Olympic qualification process.
Good Luck! I look forward to seeing you compete at USA TKD tournaments.
Finish Strong!
Nathan
