Question
QUESTION: Dear Kuo-Syn Liao,
I want to spend a few days touring Taiwan with my wife in November / December 2008.
I will arrive in Tapei, and after a few tours there (including Taroko gorge) , I want to travel by train to see Sun Moon Lake , then on to Kaohsiung.
While in Kaohsiung , I want to see the Alishan Railway and also the National Marine Museum.
I am finding it hard to find information on the best way to travel to these two attractions from Kaohsiung.

Are you able to advise,  the best way to get there and back, and approximate traveling time ?

Thanks in advance.

Alain.

ANSWER: Welcome to Taiwan
National Marine Museum, do you mean this one?    the museum near kenting, pindong (philippine sea)?

Sat and sun. 0900/1330 to a-li-shan , 1318/1340 back to jia-yi,
it takes 3 hr. 20 min. from jia-yi to a-li-shan. About NT399(may change because oil) one trip, 15% discount round trip.

QUESTION: Dear Kuo-syn Liao,

Thank you for your help. The aquarium we want to look at is the one near Kenting - as per the weblink you suggested -
Are there other aquariums we can visit during out stay ?

Thanks and regards,

Alain Lioret

Answer
That is train schedule for kaohsung to jiayi. It may change(1-3 times a year maybe).  So you have better check in sep or oct.
As for marine...
there is another good one is hua-lian, near taroko .  too far from kaohsiung . but you will go to taroko..
