Subject: Employment in Taiwan
Question Hello Lotta,
What is the best form to look for employment in Taiwan, in the area of Clinical Research. Internet or Newspaper Publication.
Answer The simple answer is both. Finding a good job in Taiwan (that's not teaching English) is just as hard as it would be anywhere else. You have to use all the resources you can think of, including online postings and newspaper classifieds, personal contacts, staffing agencies, contacting universities and medical institutions directly, finding trade associations and other organizations in your field, etc, etc.
Newspapers might lean a bit towards more serious, more established companies, universities, and so on (since they had to pay for the ad), while the online route might be skewed towards less well known companies/entities and startups. But you shouldn't count either of them out.
There are lots of good sources for Taiwan jobs online, for example, although you will have to wade through infinite numbers of ads for ESL teachers. I would go to www.taiwanted.com, check the Work section at www.forumosa.com, the jobs board at www.jobsdb.com/TW, and www.taiwanjoblink.com for starters. If you join the board at Forumosa, the nice people there should be able to point you in the right direction as well.
Good luck!
