I am going to Taipei on holidays pretty soon and I am wondering if you can recommend a cheap and good hostel?

Hi.

I am sorry, but it's been too long since I was in Taiwan and living in a hostel - I'm not at all the best person to answer this question. You might want to try the other "experts" who are currently living in Taiwan.

I would also recommend that you visit the forums over at Forumosa (http://www.forumosa.com/taiwan/index.php). Their Travel section is very useful, and I bet they will have lots of good advice. Another resource is the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forum.jspa?forumID=19&keywordid=89) on Taiwan.
