Question If I can get a teaching job with a University and then start a family, does my spouse have to work in order to stay?
Answer =1=If you get a job in university or in any company (teaching English or else), they will apply to let you stay in Taiwan.
If you marry a taiwanese girl, you can stay and work here in taiwan. (I suppose you are not from China.)
If you divorce, then go back to =1=you can stay and work only when someone(or a company) hires you.
if your wife is not taiwanese, then =1=
