Subject: Postal code for Hsinchu

Question
QUESTION: I need to know the full postal code for Hsinchu, Taiwan.
The address is 1001 Ta Hsueh rd.
It is a university.
Please let me know asap.
Thank you for your help.

ANSWER: Cindy,

The 3-digit zip for Hsinchu is 300. As far as I can tell, the five digit zip for 1001 Ta Hsueh Road is 30050.

QUESTION: How did you find this?  I looked on the website and did not see the street name?

Answer
I think that the street name system only works for the large cities like Taipei, the only place in Taiwan where the same street might have different zip codes. The main zip code system on the ChungHwa Post site also doesn't list anything except 3-digit codes for Hsinchu.

Since I knew that Hsinchu was zip code 300, however, I Google searched for businesses located at "1001 Ta Hsueh Road" "Hsinchu 300" and found several references to National Chiao Tung University at that address. After a second search incorporating the University name, I found many references to the 30050 zip.

Hope that helped.

Best,
Lotta
