I'm from the philippines. Do i need to get a tourist visa to go to taiwan for 3 days vacation?

Answer
Hi Oxy.

As far as I can tell from the Taiwan government site, someone from the Philippines is NOT eligible for the "Visa-Exempt Entry" or "Landing Visa" programs. This means that you are probably going to have to get a tourist visa to visit the island, even for a short vacation.

Since the Philippines doesn't have a representative office from Taiwan, you will have to contact the closest office to you, which will likely be the Vietnam (www.roc-taiwan.org/VN, or teco.org.vn) or Thailand (www.roc-taiwan.org/TH) offices. See http://www.roc-taiwan.org/dept.asp?mp=1&codemeta=locationIDE for all the offices of Taiwan abroad. Look for the "Consular Division" or "Consular Services", and contact them. They will help get you a visitor visa.
