Question I am a landscaper/horticulturists and see all kinds of gardening shows on hgtv etc. however none of these gardening shows give accurate information for the zone the shows are aired in (New England area). How would I be able to pitch/start a show on HGTV? Where would I begin?

Here's a few points to help start you on your way:
Assemble a strong team - production, talent, locations etc
Secure a solid list of verbal and written references
Develop a media, marketing and business plan
Warm up and secure some sponsors and advertisers
Create positive industry buzz
Create a pilot or shoot and showcase some footage in the style of the show
Once you have your documentation in order, and sufficient people behind you wanting you to succeed, telephone the network and ask for an appointment to pitch and present it in person.
