Question
Hi,
I'm from Canada and my husband and I are thinking of moving to Tampa Bay, I would love for you to answer some questions. We have two kids age 2yrs and 4yrs is there lots of programs for children? What would you say is the negative aspect if any of living in Tampa? Is there a hockey league for kids and adults? Do you feel a sense of community? How far of a drive is the ocean from tampa?
Do you have any advice for someone moving to Tampa?
Thank You
Sylvia

Answer
We moved from NY to Tampa over 10 years ago.
We had an 8 and 6 year old .  They are 18 and 16 now and both loved growing up in FLorida.
We found the schools to be fine, the recreation to be excellent, yes there are hockey leagues for both young and old alike.
We live 60 miles from the water.  You could live on the water too.  It all depends on what county your home is in.
Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough are all in the Greater Tampa Bay area.  The real estate is still moderately priced and you cannot beat the weather.
WE LOVE IT HERE.  It has a small town feel and  big city ammenities.
And we have the Stanley Cup tucked away in case they ever start playing.

I would visit, read stuff on the web and ask questions of realtors.

I know many realtors in the area, so if you need a referral, let me know.

www.tbo.com is a good place to start

Take care and consider Tampa.  You will NOT regret it
