Subject: Missing Card??

Question
I have a "classic" style deck. 78 cards "21" major arcana (22 including "0") and 4 sets of minor arcana cups, pentacle, swords, wands.
I'm missing "6" of cups and I don't want to conduct a reading with out it. Will my deck provide an accurate reading if I don't use cups, or could I simply drop the minor arcana? Now if my deck is no longer a working deck  can I simply go buy a new deck since I already have one or do I have to wait to come accross one naturaly again?
Sorry about the compound question. Thank from confused in Canada.

Answer
Hey Tyler:

There are quite a few Major's Only decks out there.  I wouldn't use the entire deck without the card or without Cups because elementally Cups are necessary for a balanced reading.

You might also contact the publisher of the Deck and see if they will mail you a 6 of Cups.  I know Llewellyn mailed me a new bag after I contacted them via e-mail.  Llewellyn, LoScarabeo and U.S. Game Systems all have web sites with a customer service e-mail addy.

Buying a new deck?  That is a pretty personal matter.  I know I bought the Mystic Faerie Tarot and a couple of other decks and they were a complete waste of my money (and not working I wish I had that money back!).

Here are a couple of sites where you can see at least some of the cards and read review about the decks:

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/
http://taroteca.multiply.com/

these are two of my favorite sites.

I always think a deck should sing to you before you buy it, unfortunately that singing could be their swan song!

I wish you the brightest of blessings,
