5'8" 235 lbs. stocky,belly.short legs.buzz cut. Told I am friendly and approachable. Girls call be 'Teddy Barry'.guys like me as I play hockey,like regular guy stuff.

I have just resigned from a well paying secure,though seasonal job in the parks department of my city,Saskatoon Canada.
I have accepted a full tome position as a bus driver with the city.
The main attraction is the fact it is full time and not seasonal.In my old job I had to rely on unemployment insurance every winter.
Second reason is the full time pension benefits.
I am almost 50 and retirement is something to think about.
My family and friends are happy for me,and I have a couple of younger buddies that already made the move from the parks department to transit and they encouraged me to follow in their footsteps.
Its just such a big move at my age so I am nervous.
In my heart I want it to work.
I think I will do OK but am hopefull you can give some guidance on what you see if anything.

Congratulations on the career change. No need to worry. You're making a good move. I see you being one of their best employees, liked by the customers and management. Speaking of management, I see a possibility of you moving into it down the road, but not yet. Maybe four years from now.
