Question
i have just had a koi on my left arm, i have gone for red the tattoo looks good in general but the head and the tail look flat, is it possible to highlight say an orange over the top to give it depth and make the head stand out more.
any ideas would be great to bring this tattoo to life.
thanks

Answer
Craigo-

I can only give general info as I'm not on the spot.  Tattooing is like watercolor or colored pencils, the color underneath impacts the color put on top.

Still, I do think you might be able to do some lightening with either a light yellow-orange or even a nice yellow over the red.  You might even be able to add some shading with a dark red or even some light grey.

I'd recommend, if you can, you talk to your tattoo artist and she see what s/he suggests.  S/he will likely offer similar advice.

Good Luck

Sasha
