Question
i just got a tattoo on my wrist and i noticed i got white blister looking bumps.hear to find out the tattoo ink has expired.so i was wondering if that could be it and what to do?the color was raspberry.thanks

Answer
Shani-

White bumps are pretty common on fresh tattoos.  Generally they are from over use of, or minor reaction to aftercare lotions/ointments.

It may be the ink, but I'd start by only using cocoa butter or a very gentle unscented lotion only once a day.  Wash once a day with mild soap and water.  Give it a week or so to mellow and it should be fine.

As always, I recommend talking to your artist as s/he is on the spot and can better advise.  And while it sounds normal and nothing to worry about, feel free to contact your medical adviser if the bumps do not go away in a couple of week or anything gets worse.

I wouldn't worry, just cut down on any after care products as sometimes the tattooed skin is a bit sensitive.

Good Luck,
Sasha Merritt
