Question
Hi, I got a tattoo 4 days ago and it is healing nicely (still tender, but has a light "crust" all over it which is just starting to flake off.  I have found all the information on the internet about what creams/lotions etc to use or not use just so confusing.  I live in Switzerland and A & D ointment is not available here (and there doesn`t seem to be anything similar).  As my tattoo and the skin around it still gets sore when it gets a bit dry I am wondering what I should use to keep it moist.  Is it OK to use pure almond oil (a very thin smear, rubbed in)?  Alternatively, is it OK to use a lotion that has no petrochemicals, perfumes, lanolin, vaseline etc in it.  It is a simple plant based body lotion made by an organic Australian company.  I would be grateful for your advice.  Many thanks.

Answer
MJ-

I actually prefer not using A&D ointment.  I'd recommend using cocoa butter or unscented lotion, don't keep it moist, just don't let it dry out.  Sounds like the lotion you want to use is perfect.

Good Luck!
