Question Wht does Neosporin remove ink from tattoos, and how can you tell if you are having an allergic reaction. What causes the allergic reaction?
Answer Albert,
First, let me apologize for getting back to you so late, my ISP has been down for a few days and just went back up this morning.
Neosporin (or triple antibiotic ointments) used to be widely recommended by all tattoo studios. However, around 1995 Neosporin suddenly thought it was "new coke" and changed it's formula. The change in formula immediately started affecting tattoos. One of the reasons it pulls pigment from a tattoo is because of the large petroleum base it has. But more importantly than that, in order for a tattoo to heal properly, it must heal naturally. That means that the tattoo must heal from the inside out. Neosporin or any other triple antibiotic causes a wound to heal from the outside in. That's why they can claim little scarring with use of their product. But it is not a natural way to heal. I hope this has been of some help. If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.
