Question
Ivan,
I currently live in Florida.  I work as a consultant for a company in New Jersey in which I will be receiving a 1099.  My question is where to I claim my state taxes, in Florida or New Jersey.  Also what forms will I need to fill out.

Thank you,
Jayson

Answer
Jayson you will need to file the NJ non resident tax for the income earned in NJ if the amount is significant you may be subject to NJ estimated tax

However if you render the services out of FL you may not be subject to any state tax. it depends on circunstances.
