Question
I live in New York State, I'm 66 years old, I was terminated by my company, I will be collecting a pension from that company. I applied for NY unemployment but was denied.
Reason, If I'm collecting a pension from the company I'm not entitled to unemployment.
I was terminated, I didn't retire, why can't I collect both my pension and unemployment?

Answer
Anthony:

You do have the right to contest New York denial of unemployment benefit.  You may have been terminated with cause, and started drawing a pension from the company, but, this does not prevent you from contesting your termination.  This everyones right.

John
