Subject: DBA and/or Corp.

Question
I opened a corporation for a business a few years ago that I never launched. I never got around to closing the corp.  what kind of problems should I expect from the IRS? My brother has the same question but for a DBA.

Answer
No problems with the IRS as no reportable income.  However, the state has probably already suspended your corporation for not filing an annual report.

As far as the DBA, the IRS will not have any interest in the enterprise as it has no income or losses, The state would have no interest as well, unless he has received a sales tax reporting number, and was required to file periodic reports.
