Question
QUESTION: I recently became aware that my ex-husband did not file my taxes along with his for the last 6 years we were together ( same house--seperate lives...long story)...anyway...how do I go about filing these past years taxes??  where do I get the W2's??...and the forms??

ANSWER: The tax forms are available at www.irs.gov.

You can get the IRS to get you your wage and income statements, just call them at 800-829-1040.

I would suggest married filing separate.

QUESTION: How much penalty is charged for this??  Is it only for taxes owed??..or are penalties charged for not filing at all??? ( Pennsylvania)

Answer
If you do not owe, no penalties will be due.  If you owe, interest and penalties are calculated on the taxes owed.

Since you are in PA, you will need W-2s from your employers, but the transcripts will give you addresses to mail for them.  And some of the locals will charge for failure to file.

If you need a PA professional in your area, chances are I know one.  Just let me know.
