Question Mr. Tidwell,
Can you give me a list of items that I can write off. Anything for being a home owner, volunteer at my sons school, animals, my husband is a truck driver. Any medical expenses that can be wrote off. Just anything that a normal citizen can write off. Thank you so much...
Carrie
Answer Carrie:
Generally your home write off is mortgage interest and property tax. Medical would be anything that is order by a doctor and is medically necessary usually consist of what ever the doctor orders that a patient needs. Volunteer work usually the only thing that can be written off in addition to charitable donations is car milage but the guidelines must be followed.
The above mentioned deduction must be weighed against the requirements of schedule A. These deduction can only be put on your 1040 using schedule A.
