Question I want to form either a LLC or Corp for an electrical company, that will also employ a licensed electrician. In order to apply for a license of my own, I need to show the electrical board 7 years of wages on a social security printout from an electrical contractor. In order to show these wages what is my course of action when starting up a LLC or corporation
Answer Paul,
Thanks for your question.
I would suggest that you form a corporation and pay yourself a salary, complete with withholding for SS/Medicare and income tax, issuing a W-2 at the end of the year.
You could probably accomplish the same thing with an LLC, but the corporate form would be a stronger distinction between you and the company.
