Question
Dear Mr. John Stancil, I have a question about Schedule SE:

in 2015:
I worked doing all kind of Handyman type of work (~$9000).
Also, I worked part time doing Drafting Services where I got 1099-Misc. (~$2000).

I know I have to file Schedule C and SE for the Drafting job, but what about the Handyman work?, do I file a separate schedule C, and if so, do I combine in schedule SE in Line 2 both profits?

Thanks a lot for your time

ps: I don't have a business
ps: Handyman income goes on 1040, line 7 or 12 or 21 ???

Thank you again.
Ma

Answer
Ma,

Thanks for your question.

Like it or not you have a handyman business. File it on a second Schedule C. The IRS requires a different Schedule C for each different business. Combine the profit from both on one Schedule SE.

Hope this helps.
