Question QUESTION: why do i have to pay city tax where i work at and residential tax where i live me and my wife both do cause we work in different counties
ANSWER: The laws on local taxation vary by state and city. But as a general rule, you pay tax where you earn the money. You also pay tax where your tax home is. However, there is generally a credit allowed for taxes paid to other jurisdictions against the taxes due to your city/county of residence.
